Tim's background as a photojournalist lends to his story-telling photography which has won him many awards including several first places as well as three Best of Show ribbons. Not only does Tim cover your wedding with the eye of a wedding photojournalist, but he also adds in a bit of artistic flair to your wedding photography, sharing his take on your wedding day from a perspective that tells your story as well as grasping the surroundings of your wedding venue.
Cheryl's work as a children's portrait photographer drives her to create fun and unique portraits of both young and old on your wedding day. Her portraits are extremely expressive and fun. Her keen eye and quick reactions allow her to keep up with the most energetic ring-bearer and flower-girls.
Their candid wedding photography has been featured on the front page of The Knot's national website, and their portrait photography has helped to serve such organizations as the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation. Donating to such causes as Thirst Relief International, World Vision, Campus Crusaude, and Reality Carpinteria is something that Tim and Cheryl hope their business, Halberg Photographers, can continue for a long time into the future.
Choosing a Destination Wedding Photographer
Picking your wedding photographer, whether you are haing your wedding at a hotel in Santa Barbara such as the Bacara Resort and Spa or the Four Seasons Biltmore, or at a private estate such as the Moody Estate, or Hilltop Farms, is a very important part of your wedding planning. Destination Wedding Photographers in Santa Barbara and world-wide charge a wide array of prices for their services and provide differing packages depending upon their normal clients needs.
Your first goal is to decide on your allotted wedding photography budget. This will help you decide which wedding photographers to approach about their services. Next, you need to begin browsing wedding photographer's websites in the area where you are having your wedding. If your wedding will be in Orange County you can begin searching for photographer's county wide, or you can narrow down to your specific town such as Newport Beach, or San Francisco.
Be sure to view the wedding photographer's website and see if their style of photography fits your personality. If you like vibrant wedding colors and the hot pink sheos you picked out need to pop in your pictures, you'll want to find a wedding photographer who takes a lot of color pictures with colors that pop off the page. If you're having a vintage themed wedding you might considering photographers who's wedding portfolio features more black and white wedding photography.
Schedule meetings with your favorite wedding photographers to see if you "click" with them. This will be the one wedding day vendor you spend the majority of your wedding day with in close quarters and you'll want to ensure you hire a wedding photographer who you get along with. For brides getting married in Santa Barbara, a wedding photographer can be someone who truly makes or breaks your day as you will be working with them often times from out of town.
Finally, ask your wedding photographer if you can submit a list of important formal groupings of your wedding party and family. Most brides and grooms hire wedding photogaphers because o the "epic" imagery on their websites, but when it comes time to order your wedding photos it always comes back to the group formals as these are the pieces that become family heirlooms for your friends and family. Your wedding photographer should be able to provide you with a list of their typical wedding day poses, or they should be willing to allow you to create your own list.
Choosing a Portrait Photographer in Santa Barbara
Not all portrait photographers are created alike. To make sure you get the most from your portrait photography session ask your portrait photographer if they will do a pre-shoot consultation with you a few das before your portrait session is scheduled. This meeting will allow you and your photographer to discuss the types of images that are most important to you during your shoot as well as the types of photographs you will want to oder. If you prefer a portrait image album over wallets that will make a different for the portrait session.
Be sure that your portrait photographer gives you enough time in the session to capture the photographs that you want. If you want several different looks during your session with different changes of clothes you'll want to ensure that not only will you have a few minutes to change your clothes and do touch ups, but that you will also be able to have time to shoot with the new set of clothes.
Portrait photographers are usually pretty flexible, especially when utilizing a boutique studio such as Halberg Photographers Portraits. Each session is entirely customized around your needs and style.
